National coach Dusan Fitzel was not happy with the 2-0 defeat but after having seen all his players in action, he now has more indications about the future of his side.

The Czech coach, in fact, announced that Birkirkara’s strong defender William Camenzuli will not play again for Malta. “He is a hard worker, but not of a good international level,” he said frankly.

Fitzel said the Maltese had suffered psychologically after the two early blows and could not explain what happened in the first 20 minutes when his side did not exist on the field of play.

He said the introduction of Cohen and Barbara in the second half enabled the team to be more aggressive and offensive. “We created a lot. We even hit the post, but we were unlucky, though I must say we were also helped by the fact that Georgia were playing in 10 men. Had we scored at least one goal, it would have given confidence to the players,” he added.

The coach showered praise on Luke Dimech saying that he was fantastic and managed the defence as a great boss. Fitzel also acknowledged the good contribution of Mifsud and Gilbert Agius, especially in the second half.
