Mother’s Day, which is celebrated on the second Sunday of May, is a good occasion to celebrate the positive aspects of motherhood and the role of a mother in society, the Cana Movement said.

“Mothers Day gives us a chance to pay tribute to all Maltese mothers for the sacrifices that they have made for their children. The mother is present at every stage of a child’s life and is constantly there to give support, courage and love that is unique in every way.”

The Cana Movement also paid tribute to single mothers and encouraged them to face their problems with courage.

The movement expressed solidarity with widowed mothers who have to raise a family on their own and also women who are unable to have children.
