Sliema Residents ask for Labour leader’s intervention

Malta Independent Tuesday, 6 June 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

A group of residents who reside in St Anne Square, Sliema yesterday called upon Labour leader Dr Alfred Sant and asked him to intervene on their behalf with regard to a building permit issued by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority in the same square.

Speaking on behalf of the residents, Chris Vassallo said that their building is the only scheduled one in the square and it is inconceivable how Mepa granted a permit for an eight-storey development to be built in front of their residence.

Dr Sant said that the Labour Party would be taking up the matter to investigate it, and, if need be, would request a magisterial inquiry into the matter.
