World Cup Enthusiasm at Valletta Waterfront

Malta Independent Sunday, 2 July 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

The first week of World Cup action saw hundreds of fans enjoying the football spectacle at the Valletta Waterfront. All 64 matches of the competition are being shown on a large screen that has been set up on the Laguna opposite the various bars and restaurants which now occupy the former Pinto Stores.

In addition to World Cup action, visitors to Valletta Waterfront could also enjoy watching Formula One racing. The last race that took place in Canada was shown on the big screen last Sunday. Visitors can watch all this sporting action while enjoying an al fresco drink or a meal along the water's edge.
