Court: Teenager Charged with corrupting underage girl

A 17-year-old from Sliema was yesterday charged with corrupting a 15-year-old Swedish girl in Ghadira on Sunday when he allegedly tried to remove her swimsuit.

The teenager, whose name cannot be mentioned since he is still a minor, was charged with corrupting the girl on Sunday afternoon and with offending public morals.

Before magistrate Abigail Lofaro, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was granted bail against a deposit of Lm100 and a personal guarantee of Lm3,000.

Police inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted while Dr Jose Herrera appeared for the defendant.
