Fidelity Launches four new funds in Malta

Malta Independent Tuesday, 15 August 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Leading independent fund manager Fidelity International has recently launched four new funds in Malta, increasing the range of equity, asset allocation, bond, balanced and cash funds to 75 funds, all of which are listed on the Malta Stock Exchange.

The new funds are available in a selection of currencies and include funds consisting of accumulation shares as well as distribution shares. Fidelity’s combination of global perspective and local, on-the-ground presence allows them to research the companies in which they invest inside out and uncover outstanding investment opportunities that others might miss. This has resulted in 99 Standard & Poor’s 1st Place awards – more than any other fund house.

The newly available funds are: Fidelity Funds – Global Property Fund, an equity fund that invests in worldwide property companies engaged in the real-estate industry and other real-estate-related investments; Fidelity Funds – European Fund, an equity fund that is based on a blend of existing Fidelity European sub-funds; Fidelity Funds – Japan Dividend Growth Fund, an equity fund made up of a selection of Japanese companies with a strong potential for dividend growth as well as long-term capital growth and Fidelity Funds – Emerging Market Debt Fund, a bond fund consisting of global emerging market debt securities.

The minimum investment amount in all Fidelity funds is just Lm500 (or foreign currency equivalent), and Lm400 for additional top-ups, while the recently announced Growth Investments Loyalty Scheme offers its direct clients reduced initial charges and switching fees.

Fidelity Funds is exclusively represented in Malta by Growth Investments Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Middle Sea Valletta Life Assurance Co. Ltd. Growth Investments markets collective investment funds in the local market, provides back-office services to its parent company in connection with Linked Long-Term Contracts of Insurance and acts as a financial intermediary for securities listed on the Malta Stock Exchange.
