I wish to attract the attention of readers who may be interested in donating two hours of their time to attend a small group meeting (five to eight people) in November to discuss issues of Maltese identity.

I have identified about 50 participants so far but still need participants from the following groups: senior civil servants, religious professionals, company directors, lawyers, shop owners, pilots and air traffic controllers, bank employees, employees from the insurance sector, secretaries, drivers (buses, taxis etc) and sales people.The only requirement for participation is some awareness of local newspapers, however slight, and Maltese citizenship. Participants should have read at least one local newspaper in 2006.

Participants will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire about their reading habits before attending the meeting. At the meeting, they will be asked to read a short newspaper cutting in Maltese or English and to discuss it with the rest of the group. The topics under discussion will be: immigration, emigration, EU membership.
