Hermann Bonaci Productions will revive Zeza tal-Flagship next February. The classic storyline by Mikielang Borg written a century ago is still popular and the modern version will be produced on the stage of the Catholic Institute.

The new version adapted by Joe Gatt on popular ‘musical’ melodies will be played ‘live’ and the orchestra under the baton of Maestro Dominic Darmanin is already in rehearsal mode. Even the singing rehearsals have kicked off under the direction of Michelle Castelletti while dancing is being instructed by Eldridge Saliba Curmi. Work on the set is also under way and the actors are busy studying their lines.

The comedy is based in a Strait Street bar after the First World War where the famous Zeza used to work. In this particular bar, the dive used to be the famous Zeza; outgoing, lively, cheeky and curvy by nature!
