Following the success it had last year with the comedy Friefet u Barrin, the Karattri theatre group will open the season with another comedy Ghandek jew m’Ghadekx, Dejjem Problema.

The cast consists of Ray Attard, Lilianne Pace, Ray Abdilla, Moira Muscat, Carmel Gauci, Gwido Fenech, Fabian Mizzi and Mark Schembri. The play is directed by Lino Grech and produced by Daniel Borg Carbott.

When one has spent his life

trying to make ends meet on a meagre salary, it would surely be a wonderful surprise and a great relief were one to win something like Lm30,000 in the Super 5 lottery. Imagine how much greater the surprise and relief would be had he to find himself in possession of Lm735,000 while on a trip between Mgarr and Cirkewwa – the shock of the surprise would probably kill him on the spot.

The shock did not kill Emy Borg, but it certainly brought him a great deal of trouble. First, he had to escape from Malta with his wife Rebecca in less than an hour. He had to find a way of getting rid of their two best friends Alfie and Bettie. He also had to get rid of a nosy taxi driver, and above all he had to get rid of a police sergeant who had come to give his wife the bad news that her husband has been found dead at the Ghadira Bird Sanctuary, while he was in the kitchen making a deal with another police sergeant. Another character in this comedy is Mr Brerfucurse or Mr Smuggler... or The Boss.
