A woman was charged with stealing two cheques, forging the signatures of their owners and defrauding two men of about Lm1,000.

Alexia Cross, 27, from St Paul’s Bay, denied stealing the cheques, belonging to Hilary Attard and Mark Cassar, and forging the owners’ signatures.

Magistrate Joe Cassar granted Ms Cross bail against a personal guarantee of Lm2,000.

Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for Ms Cross.
