‘Particles Of Fate’

Malta Independent Friday, 19 January 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

Particles of Fate is an adventure one is invited to participate in by Photographer John Grech and Poet Lino Buhagiar. The book was launched yesterday at St James Cavalier, and is the result of an intense love of the craft on the part of both artists, coupled with years of experience, both clearly evident in the final product.

Between them John and Lino have created a world which is as enticing as it is thought provoking and, at times, unnerving. The book shows diverse facets of life, sometimes fierce, sometimes cruel but which always ring a note of truth.

The book becomes available to the public today when the book is presented to an audience at St James Cavalier, Theatre-in-the-round. There, various art forms – dance, music, and visual arts, together with the poetry and photography – will come together in a richly textured performance. In conjunction with this, an exhibition of some of the literary and photographic works in the book will run till the 18 February in the Atrium at St James Cavalier.

The book is published by the Kooperattiva Kulturali Uni-versitarja (KKU) and supported by Canon. The Picture House designed the exhibition.

Ideacasa, National Lotteries Good Causes Fund, Bank of Valletta and Marsovin are supporting both the exhibition and the performance.
