The St Georges central defender Renato Garzia Conceicao has landed the BOV Player of the Month award for January.

Consistently sound defensive play by this Brazilian player has been catching the eye, especially in recent weeks.

A mere four goals conceded by the Saints in as many matches in January, two of which against two of the top teams in the BOV Premier League, helped St George’s offer resistance to opposing attacking formations.

Conceicao played a pivitol role in recent matches which his team drew against Marsaxlokk and Msida.

The Brazilian defender will no doubt be a central figure in his team’s bid to stave off relegation in the forthcoming weeks.
