Malta Independent Sunday, 11 February 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Today’s programme will primarily and exclusively focus on Maltese international footballer, Michael Mifsud. The former Sliema, Kaiserslautern and Lillestrom striker signed a two year and a half contract with English Championship club, Coventry City after a good spell in Norwegian top division football.

Mifsud played his first match for Coventry against Crystal Palace and on Monday 22 January he registered his first goal for Sky Blues against Plymouth Argyle.

A week after, a Maltese television crew of Net Television sports programme, Replay went to Coventry to meet the player as he made his first full debut with Coventry against Luton Town.

The co-producer and presenter of Replay, Christian Micallef together with camerman Darren Caruana from Engima Productions, filmed the player for four days. The programme conducted an in-depth interview with the player and Coventry supporters. Moreover Micallef managed to talk with Coventry’s caretaker coach, Adrian Heathe. The latter was in Malta in the past as he played for Everton against local side Hamrun Spartans.

The programme will include various features about Mifsud and his club, including a brief history of the club which includes the success they had 20 years ago when clinching the FA Cup against Tottenham Hotspurs.

As from today, Replay will give a chance to viewers to win an exclusive ticket for the Uefa Champions League match between Manchester United and Lille, scheduled for Wednesday 7 March. The winner of this prize will also have the flight ticket, hotel accommodation and all transfers paid by Charles Grech Ltd. To participate one only has to send a SMS during the programme on 50617092.

Replay is produced and presented by Robert Cutajar and Christian Micallef, directed by Jeremy Dalli. The programme is broadcasted live on Net Television every Sunday night at 9.15pm.

Next Sunday’s special programme is powered by All Sports International and Heiniken, and supported by Luciano Restaurant and Wilkinson Sword.
