Malta Independent Thursday, 15 February 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Bank of Valletta is supporting artist Trevor Borg in his fourth personal exhibition entitled, Open Verse. The exhibition, being staged in the main hall of St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta, will be open to the public between 16 February and 25 March.

The new collection extends the artist’s visual research journey and Borg explains that through his renditions he is “juxtaposing the real and the imaginary in order to create reflective and meditative works imbued with symbolic meaning”. Besides having organised three successful personal exhibitions, Borg has also participated in various contemporary art exhibitions abroad, in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Spain.

The bank’s sponsorship was presented by Michael Galea, head of marketing, communication and quality at Bank of Valletta to the artist at the artist’s studio. Speaking during the presentation, Mr Galea said: “We are delighted to support Trevor Borg’s fourth personal exhibition. Bank of Valletta has built a reputation of being the leading patron of arts and culture in Malta. Through our Community Programme we are regularly supporting Maltese artists to exhibit their works. We are confident that such exhibitions contribute to the development of the career of Maltese artists and also promote the development of creative talent.”

Mr Borg thanked Bank of Valletta and said he was “very pleased that Bank of Valletta have shown such an interest in my art and I am grateful for their support. I would also like to congratulate the bank as it has always been at the forefront when it comes to supporting art and culture.”

Further information about Trevor Borg’s creative work and his current exhibition Open Verse can be found on the artist’s new website www.trevorborg.com.
