Malta Independent Friday, 16 February 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

The Hibernians international striker Terence Scerri received an eight-month suspension after being sent off in last Saturday’s Premier League match against St George’s.

Terence Scerri was found guilty by the MFA Disciplinary Commission of pushing referee Joe Attard, after the official had shown the Hibernians’ striker the red card.

Minutes after this incident, the same player attempted to invade the pitch when St George’s were awarded a penalty.

Terence Scerri was in fact suspended for three matches and received another eight-month suspension.

Two other Hibernians players, Adrian Pulis and Andrew Cohen received a one-match ban. A St George’s player Heathcliff Schembri also received a one-match ban.

Birkirkara captain Michael Galea who was sent off in the dying minutes against Valletta, was suspended for two matches.

Meanwhile the Msida SJ President Antoine Portelli was banned for four matches.
