Missing Teen: Foul play ‘ruled out’

Malta Independent Friday, 23 February 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

The team of investigators looking into the discovery of human bones found in a quarry in Naxxar has, for the time being, ruled out foul play, police sources told The Malta Independent.

The human bones, the sources said, are believed to be those of Christian Camilleri, 18, from Wardija, who had been missing since the end of November last year. Forensic tests being conducted have so far not confirmed the identity of the person.

Sources said the investigators have ruled out foul play at this stage of the investigations and are considering other possibilities, including that the person could have died after he fell.

Mr Camilleri had gone missing following a minor traffic accident on the Coast Road.

Various searches had been conducted in Maghtab, close to where he had been seen last following the accident. The pair of shoes found close to the human remains in the quarry is similar to the pair Mr Camilleri was wearing when he was reported missing.
