Melita Launches prepaid solution for fixed-line telephony

Malta Independent Friday, 2 March 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Three months from the launch of hello as a fully-fledged fixed-line telephony service, Melita is pleased to announce the launch of an innovative prepaid solution for fixed-line telephony service, helloflex.

Helloflex provides fixed-line telephony users with the option to be in total control of their costs when calling any other user in Malta and abroad. Building upon the success achieved throughout the last three months, helloflex provides customers with the benefit of the cheapest prepaid calling rates in Malta, cost control and no hassles with monthly bills.

With helloflex, customers can set up their connection at home and start paying only for those calls that they make. This option has proved to be very popular in the mobile-phone industry and is bound to become very popular in the fixed-line market as well.

The helloflex system is very consumer-friendly. After the installation of the hello system at home, customers can top up their account either through the website www.hello.com.mt, or via a network of card resellers across Malta and Gozo. Over 150 outlets have been commissioned to sell helloflex prepaid cards. The cards come in two denominations, namely Lm5 cards and Lm10 cards.

How it works

Once the hello system is installed and helloflex is selected, consumers can call any network in Malta and more than 1,000 operators overseas by simply dialling the designated number. Each call is charged as per the helloflex rates and deducted from the account balance. The prepay system enables customers to check their balance in a timely manner thereby allowing them to keep a close eye on costs. Yet again, the single most important benefit of hello is the fact that all calls between hello users are free of charge.

“We are very pleased to be launching the helloflex system just three months from the launch of hello in the market,” commented Franco de Gabriele – Head Sales and Marketing of Melita Cable plc. “Hello has already proven to be an incredible success story with over 10,000 customers choosing our system as their preferred fixed-line telephony provider. This means that 10,000 families and businesses can call each other for free. We promised to revolutionise the manner in which people communicate with each other, and that is exactly what we are doing,” concluded Mr de Gabriele.
