A Libyan man, who told a court he is getting married in two months, was yesterday jailed for six months suspended for one year after pleading guilty to possessing heroin.
Tarek Ibrahim Abushnana, 30, pleaded guilty of being in possession of the drug on and before 2 March. The man informed the court that he wanted to leave Malta as soon as possible because he is getting married in two months.
Magistrate Miriam Hayman jailed him for six months suspended for one year.
Police Inspector Dennis Theuma prosecuted while Dr Mark Busuttil appeared for the accused.
