A man was seriously injured in a fight in San Nikola Square, Siggiewi, yesterday afternoon at around 3.30pm, the police said.

Preliminary investigations showed that a 48-year-old man from Siggiewi was taken to St Luke’s Hospital by ambulance after an unspecified number of people had been involved in a fight.

Doctors at St Luke’s Hospital certified he was suffering from serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Duty Magistrate Anthony Vella appointed various experts to help in the inquiry. Three people are helping the police with their enquires.
