Children’s Author to visit Malta

The celebrated British author Katherine Roberts will be visiting Malta on the occasion of World Book Day, which is celebrated on 23 April. Ms Roberts is best known for her Seven Fabulous Wonders series, published by HarperCollins. The series combines magic, myths and history, taking young readers on a journey of fantastic discoveries.

Ms Roberts was born in Torquay, England, in 1962. She graduated with a First in Mathematics from Bath University, and since then has worked with computers, racehorses and in a pet shop. Her debut novel Song Quest was published in 1999 and won the Branford Boase Award for an outstanding first novel for children.

During her stay, Ms Roberts will be visiting schools and attending book-signings organised by Agenda Bookshop. On World Book Day, Ms Roberts will host an activity for school children at the Embassy Cinemas in Valletta. On the same day, another event will be held for Agenda Kids Club members at the Agenda Bookshop, Valletta Waterfront.

Book signings will also be held at Sapienza’s in Valletta on 20 April from 5.30 to 6.30pm. On 21 April, Ms Roberts will sign books at Smart Supermarket in Birkirkara between 10 and 11am, at Agenda Pavi in Qormi from 11.30 to 12.30pm, at Agenda Plaza in Sliema from 5.30 to 6.30pm and at Agenda Departures at Malta International Airport between 7.30 and 8.30pm.

On 22 April, book signings will be held at Agenda Departures as above between 11 and noon, at Agenda Viset, Valletta Waterfront, from 12.30 to 1.30pm and at Chaucer’s Baystreet in St Julian’s from 5.30 to 6.30pm. On 24 April, a book signing will be held at the Trading Post in Sliema from 6 to 7pm and on 25 April at the Agenda Embassy in Valletta between 5 and 6pm.
