The missionary movement Gesù fil-Proxxmu and the Helping Hands Foundation raised Lm10,000 over two months in aid of the movement during December-January.

The movement, run by Fr Gorg Grima, said it had not been the ideal time to raise money, because many organisations start raising money during that period. The 10th edition of a booklet produced by the foundation was widely accepted and bought by the public.

At the end of its two-month campaign, the foundation presented Lm10,000 to Fr Grima. The foundation said that in the 30 months it has been operating, it had now raised in all Lm130,660, which has been distributed to charitable activities.

Money raised from the 11th edition of the booklet will be in aid of the Siggiewi residential homes for the handicapped. The campaign has several weeks to go but the foundation has already passed Lm6,000 to the Dar tal-Providenza.
