A man was yesterday remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to threatening to burn his business partner.
Egyptian national Elsayed Abdelsalem El Sisy, 36, who lives in Fgura, was charged with threatening to burn Bouchra Agius, his business partner, during a telephone conversation.
He was also accused of using telecommunications equipment illegally by allegedly threatening Ms Agius.
Before magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, Mr Elsayed pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was remanded in custody.
Police Inspector Kevin Farrugia prosecuted.
