‘Doksa’ And NET TV

Malta Independent Saturday, 28 April 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

In reference to the letters entitled Bring back ‘Doksa’ (TMID, 21 April), and Bring back ‘Doksa’ (2) (TMID, 26 April), I would first like to thank both Mr David Camilleri and Mr Sandro Caruana for the interest shown in this production, as well as for the positive feedback given to NET TV. The only reason for stopping this programme is purely schedule-based, since it was originally planned to run for 26 weeks, as it did. This is a natural process in TV schedule planning, also because of other programme commitments taken at planning stage.

On the other hand, I would like to reassure Mr Camilleri and Mr Caruana that our plans are to produce, once again, more high quality discussion programmes, similar to Doksa, which will be included in future schedules.

In the meantime I would like to take this opportunity to recommend that Mr Camilleri and Mr Caruana watch our new discussion programme, Persjani Mbexxqa, presented by Claudette Pace and broadcast on Thursday evenings at 8.30pm.

Although different from Doksa in terms of style and content, I strongly believe that this programme, too, allows for an in-depth, balanced, intelligent discussion – a format that should interest viewers who seek this type of coherent programme structure.

Once again, I would like to thank both the correspondents mentioned above for their encouraging comments.
