A man was charged yesterday with stealing a car’s number plates in Msida on Tuesday night and with stealing a car stereo on Wednesday afternoon.

Richard Attard, 25, from Birkirkara, was charged with stealing the registration plates of a Seat Marbella parked in Msida. He was also charged with stealing a Pioneer car stereo from a Peugeot parked in Santa Venera and with damaging the vehicle. He was further charged with receiving stolen goods.

Finally, Mr Attard was charged with committing a crime during the operative period of a suspended jail term, breaching a probation order and breaching the terms of a conditional discharge.

Before magistrate Antonio Mizzi, Mr Attard pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm2,000 but was also placed under house arrest.
