WasteServ Malta Ltd (ESF) representatives will be present at the Spring Fair during Earth Garden at the weekend, to pass on practical information about waste minimisation, waste separation and home composting, the company said.

In 2005, WasteServ implemented a project entitled Training Job Seekers to assist in the Implementation of Waste Separation at Source, that was co-financed by the European Social Fund. During this project, WasteServ trained 24 registered job seekers to raise awareness about reducing, reusing and recycling waste.

WasteServ said that, as a result of the success of the project following 20,000 household visits, he had secured a further e200,000 and was planning to visit another 20,000 households this year.

The representatives’ primary role was to educate and motivate families, to contribute by reducing the amount of waste they produced, separating waste at bring-in sites, Civic Amenity Sites and resorting to opt for home composting.
