The head of the European Commission representation in Malta, Dr Joanna Drake, recently presented Josette Falzon, on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a cheque for the amount of Lm959 collected from donations given by patrons during the ninth edition of the European Film Festival, which was held in March.Over a period of three weeks, a total of 21 European films, including one from Malta, Gagga by Mario Philip Azzopardi, were presented to local audiences. The sum also included the proceeds from the entrance fee to all the evenings of the festival. Mrs Falzon thanked Dr Drake for the representation’s support, reiterating that the money will be going for further research towards discovering a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
