The Società Filarmonica Sliema is holding a Grand Operetta Evening by general request at its premises on Wednesday 6 June at 7.30pm.

The most popular selections will be performed by local singers Joseph Aquilina, Karen Camilleri, Joe Huber, Claire Caruana, Connie Frances Zerafa and Loiuselle Pace Gouder, coordinated by Mro Joe Fenech. Cynthia Genovese will accompany on the piano while the University Third Age Choir will join in performing and supporting popular arias. Famous selections will be from the operettas Cin-Ci-La, La Vedova Allegra, La Bajadera, Il Paese dei Campanelli, Scugnizza, The Geisha, Il Conte di Lussemburgo and La Principessa della Czarda. There will also be the special participation of well-known singer Terry L. Bencini and dancer and singer Mariosa Pavia.

As a curtain raiser to this special evening, the Eastern Helsinki Music School Wind Band from Finland will perform a programme of light and lively music.
