Casa Lapostolle, the Chilean winery renowned for their top notch wines from every vintage is no longer a distant dream for wine lovers in Malta.

Bicanter Distributors is proud to add the famous Casa Lapostolle winery from Chile to its wine selection. Casa Lapostolle needs no introduction for wine connoisseurs, it is a small and relatively new, exclusively quality-oriented winery that has made considerable inroads over the past years and since 1994 has gained significant market share in world markets.

Chilean wineries which usually are well known for huge, well-established enterprises with a large volume production, Casa Lapostolle owned by the Marnier Lapostolle family of Grand Marnier fame and managed by Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet, focus on excellence which fits perfectly into Bicanter’s philosophy.

The Marnier Lapostolle family also own the Chateau de Sancerre in the Loire Valley, where they have a long history of viticulture.

Casa Lapostolle became famous for its impeccably made Sauvignon Blanc. Indeed only recently the Food and Wine Magazine has named Casa Lapostolle’s Sauvignon Blanc one of the “50 wines you can ALWAYS trust” irrespective of the vintage.

Casa Lapostolle now own vineyards covering 300 hectares with the grapes grown being Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Carmenere and Syrah. Their most premium wine is the Clos Apalta, a red wine blend of Carmenere –Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Clos Apalta Winery & Guest House in Colchagua Valley is also rated as one of the World’s Best Five Hotels for Wine Lovers. The Marnier Lapostolle family also own the Chateau de Sancerre in the Loire Valley, where they have a long history of viticulture. The family is well known for its uncompromising approach to quality, and in their Chilean endeavour, the objective remains to use French expertise and Chilean terroir.

The winery employs the consulting services of Michel Rolland, the world famous Bordeaux winemaker and Jacques Begarie as chief viticulturist and winemaker, also a very famous name in Bordeaux.

Bicanter Distributors is a recently established importer of wines, a successful business which started only four years ago when two friends, who shared a great passion for fine wines, ventured into importing quality wines to the Maltese market.
