A badly decomposed body of a would-be illegal immigrant was recovered from the sea near the tuna-pens off Marsascala Bay, at around noon yesterday.

An amateur fisherman raised the alarm when he noticed a lifeless body near the pens.

The body was recovered and later handed over to the police for further investigations.

Later, sources close to FRONTEX’s mission “Operation Nautilus –2” reported that one of the Maltese patrol boats has recovered another body from the sea.
