D-Day At PBS nearing

Malta Independent Sunday, 8 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 18 years ago

There was a flurry of activity at PBS last week with programme organisers like Lou Bondi and others having meetings behind closed doors as the mid-July deadline for the publication of the autumn schedule draws near.

But the editorial board has been kept out of the loop. “We did our job and finished it a month ago,” said a board member. The editorial board steadfastly opted to view only the video-promos of those programmes it had shortlisted, thus excluding Mr Bondi’s Bondiplus.

The board of directors has ordered all applicants to prepare a video-promo even if they had not been shortlisted, but the board of directors or someone for them must have viewed these promos.

There have not been any contacts so far between the board of directors and the editorial board although this may now happen after the next meeting of the board of directors scheduled for the coming week.

The PBS CEO has never reported any communication from the board of directors to the editorial board though the subject is always on the editorial board’s agenda.
