Malta Independent Sunday, 8 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

A Maltese singer and an Australian with a Maltese surname are singing different language versions of the song Receive the power which has been chosen as the theme song for the next World Youth Day that will be celebrated in Australia later on this year.

The original version in English was sung by the duo Guy Sebastian and Paulini but the participation of young people from all over the world has necessitated it being sung in various languages.

Robert Galea, a singer with the charismatic movement, will sing a verse in Italian. He has already published three albums and is known not just in Australia but also in Malta and in the UK.

Amelia Farrugia is a young opera singer in Australia and will sing Rosina in the Barbiere di Siviglia at the Sydney Opera House this year. She will sing the World Youth Day song in French.
