Tunisair Begets Sevenair

Malta Independent Sunday, 8 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

At a ceremony at Tabarka, Tunisair unveiled its newest baby, Sevenair. In effect, this is a complete relaunch of the 15-year-old airline, which in its time carried more than six million passengers. With the new name, a new logo and a new fleet, and the opening up of the Tunisian skies and increased competition, the airline hopes to be better positioned to fight off competition.

It will have scheduled flights, charter and low-cost flights. It will fly internally in Tunisia linking Tunis to Djerba, Tozeur, Gafsa, Sfax and Tabarka and internationally it will operate to Palermo, Malta and Tripoli in conjunction with Tunisair.

Its fleet was increased yesterday with the arrival of a 70-seater ATR 72-500. The company employs 250 people.
