A Libyan man was jailed for 10 months, suspended for two years, yesterday after pleading guilty to assaulting three police officers last month.
Mahmoud Farag Elamani, 23, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police sergeant, a police constable and a woman police constable on 9 June in Paceville.
He also admitted slightly injuring them, escaping police custody while at St Luke’s Hospital, damaging a car and damaging a police officer’s uniform.
Magistrate Edwina Grima jailed Elamani for 10 months, suspended for two years, and ordered him to pay damages.
Police Inspector Carlo Ellul prosecuted while Dr Kris Balzan appeared for the accused.
