Housing Authority Comments ‘were misunderstood’

Malta Independent Thursday, 19 July 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The article by Housing Authority chairperson Marisa Micallef on a recent issue of The Malta Independent on Sunday which provided Labour leader Alfred Sant with a talking point two Sundays ago were misunderstood, Social Solidarity Minister Dolores Cristina yesterday told Evarist Bartolo.

Ms Micallef did not state she personally was offered property as a bribe but rather that land, which did not have development permits, which was offered to the authority so that this builds flats upon it.

The authority does not do things like this and, as stated in the article, the proponent was shown the door, Ms Cristina said.
