Isle Of MTV concert

The Isle of MTV concert will hopefully give a great boost to the tourist sector in Malta. However, in my opinion there is one fly in the ointment particularly for those poor gullible young people, like my daughter and her cousin, who paid Lm30 in the hope of receiving “preferential treatment”.

On arrival they were escorted to a platform specially for paying guests. They soon realised however that so many tickets had been sold that they could actually not move and one could hardly breathe on this platform. After a while, they could not take the overcrowding, so they got down off the platform and joined the non-paying guests. Lo and behold they found that the non-paying crowd was not as squashed as they were on the platform making it easier to breathe and, to add insult to injury, the view was even better! My daughter and her cousin both feel that they were actually conned out of lm30 each.

Whoever organised this event should have had more consideration for the paying guests and limited the number of people on the platform. Trying to contact the organisers the following morning proved a futile exercise. I wonder why?

My son is now having a field day teasing his sister and cousin for the complete waste of Lm30. Somewhere in all this there is a lesson to be learnt.
