A 32-year-old Libyan is on the danger list after he fell into a shaft while working on a construction site.

The accident occurred yesterday at 11.50am in Dun Frans Camilleri Street, Hamrun.

The police and members of the Civil Protection Department were immediately dispatched on site.

The man was taken to St Luke's Hospital by ambulance, where he was found to be in critical condition.

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani was informed of the case and appointed several court experts to assist her in an inquiry.

Police investigations are still under way.
