The Labour Party’s spokeswoman for public function, Helena Dalli, said that the outcome of the resignation of the Public Broadcasting Services editorial board chairman, John Camilleri, showed to what extent Information Technology and Investment minister Austin Gatt, has let the situation spin out of control.
Ms Dalli said the PBS board of directors was completely ignoring the editorial board though the policy for national broadcasting laid down that decisions should be taken jointly by the two boards.
The minister was supporting the board of directors and thus going against the policy laid down by the government itself, Ms Dalli said in a statement.
