Malta Independent Tuesday, 11 September 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

This summer, two of Malta’s promising classical singers have come together to produce an evening of light and romantic classical music at St James Cavalier

Nick Agius Darmanin and Francesca Aquilina have worked together in various shows throughout their careers. Most recently we have seen them duet in West Side Story.

They have once again joined forces to put together an evening of classical music entitled Notturno.

The aim of the recital is to help raise funds to further their classical studies abroad. Francesca is currently in Scotland at Napier University reading for a degree in music and Nick will be auditioning for various colleges at the end of this year.

The recital will consist of various light and romantic arias by composers such as Mozart, Tosti, Verdi, Debussy, Faure, Donizetti, and Gluck. They are aiming to attract people of all ages and encourage the appreciation of classical music among Maltese audiences.

Notturno will be performed in The Music Room at St James Cavalier on Sunday at 8pm.

This event is being sponsored by P. Cutajar, Drama Troupe, Al Mare by Ray Fauizza and Rosalie’s Skin Care Salon.
