Malta’s towering veteran defender Brian Said of Sliema Wanderers, has been named in Eurosport.com’s Team of the Week team.

This follows his excellent performance for Malta against Turkey last Saturday, especially after he also scored Malta’s first goal in the 2-2 draw.

The team, named in the highly respected website is filled with four England players after their

3-0 win over Israel, and also includes Scots Darren Fletcher and James McFadden as well as French stars Lassana Diarra and veteran Lilian Thuram.

Said was not the only player from a small country named to this team. Iceland goalie Arni Arason also received a mention after his heavy involvement in his side’s 1-1 draw with Spain.
