The Malta Transport Authority notifies that between Monday and Friday, cleaning and maintenance works will be carried out along parts of the St James’ Ditch area, Valletta. Works will be carried out as follows:

Monday to Wednesday – Works will be carried out in the area between the bridge (Yellow Garage) up to the offices of the Department of Trade.

Thursday and Friday – Works will be carried out from the bridge up to Triq l-Assedju l-Kbir (Valletta Ring Road).

Access will be partially impeded and parking in the area will be prohibited.

Due to site complications, Mdina Road, the Attard carriageway leading to Valletta (from the corner with Triq il-Linja up to the corner with Triq L-Gharix) will be closed to vehicular traffic from today between 7am and 6pm until further notice.

To this end, vehicular traffic from Rabat in the direction towards Attard will be diverted to Triq il-Linja,Triq L-Gharix and Mdina Road.

Vehicular traffic from Valletta in the direction of Rabat will not be affected. Public transport will not be affected.

Triq Ghar Dalam, Birzebbuga will be open to two-way traffic late afternoon today until the early hours of Monday morning.

As from 7am on Monday, until further notice, Triq Ghar Dalam, Birzebbuga from the corner with Triq iz-Zejtun up to the corner with Triq F.M. Ferretti will once again be closed to Public Transport and vehicular traffic in the direction towards Birzebbuga.

To this end, public transport and vehicular traffic to Birzebbuga will be diverted through Marsaxlokk.

As from Tuesday, works will be undertaken at the Olympic Grove Roundabout Junction in Xemxija. Works will be carried out in a number of phases; however public transport and vehicular traffic will remain unobstructed. At particular periods, the direct access from Triq Ghajn Tuffieha and St Paul’s Bay Bypass to Triq San Pawl (St Paul’s Bay Centre) will not be permitted in which case, vehicular traffic and public transport coming from Triq Ghajn Tuffieha and St Paul’s Bay Bypass will be diverted to Xatt il-Pwales, it-Telgha tax-Xemxija, roundabout near Xemxija Church and back down towards St Paul’s Bay centre.

Tomorrow between 5.30am and 1pm, Triq is-Salini (Coast Road) from the junction with Triq il-Maghtab up to the junction with Telgha t’Alla u Ommu will be closed to vehicular traffic. To this end, vehicular traffic and public transport from Bahar ic-Caghaq will be diverted to Triq il-Maghtab, Telgha t’Alla u Ommu and Triq is-Salini. Vehicular traffic and public transport from Kennedy Grove in the direction towards Bahar ic-Caghaq will be diverted to Telgha t’Alla u Ommu.
