The Manoel Theatre will be holding “The Manoel Theatre Swings with GO” between 26 and 28 October.

Sigmund Mifsud is organising the concert, having chosen the concept of it, the musical era and many other details.

The concert will be a swing-jazz mix and young musicians will be interpreting a number of pieces of music from the 1920s.

Vocalists Daniel Cauchi and Nadine Axisa will be accompanied by a band of 16 musicians. Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech said that the theatre was a place where concerts would be performed by the National Orchestra, the Armed Forces of Malta and other bands, classic nights, operas and pantomimes.

“But it is more than that. The theatre is a place where youngsters are given the opportunity to showcase and develop their talents. This concert is one which will be performed by young musicians and singers,” he said.

Dr Zammit Dimech said a lot of investment had gone into improving the infrastructure of the theatre including the construction of studio apartments, a wardrobe, lifts, dressing rooms and rooms for rehearsals. In addition, restoration work has also been carried out, he said.
