Vodafone To launch multiple MVNOs in partnership with Aspider Solutions

Vodafone Malta Limited today announced it has signed an exclusive wholesale partnership deal with Aspider Solutions to support the launch of multiple Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) in Malta. MVNOs will be able to provide branded mobile services using Vodafone’s infrastructure and network capacity. Through this partnership, MVNOs will target specific markets in both pre-paid and post-paid segments. Commercial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

With this latest development Vodafone Malta is supporting the launch of MVNOs in Malta hence creating more choice in the market.

Through this partnership, Vodafone is once again leading innovation in the Maltese market,” said Inaki Berroeta, CEO of Vodafone Malta. “We are confident that this new partnership with Aspider Solutions will enable us to remain the leading operator in Malta whilst ensuring that customers will benefit from an increased choice of products and services.”

Following multiple successful MVNO launches in several countries over the past two years, Aspider Solutions continues to aggressively execute its strategy capitalising on high-growth opportunities in the international Mobile communications markets.

Patrick Meyer, vice-president business development, acting as interim managing director of Aspider Solutions Malta continued. “Combining the best national network with our international expertise in launching and running MVNOs will provide great opportunities for emerging mobile brands.”

Both parties expect the MVNO market in Malta to develop in much the same way as other jurisdictions like Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and the UK.
