Table-Tennis: Exciting First round as leagues get under way

The National Leagues organised by the Malta Table Tennis Association took off last Friday with a very exiting first round in which no less than 23 teams in three divisions started their league commitments.

All teams play on Fridays at the University gym, Tal-Qroqq, Misda commencing at 7.30pm.

Malta University S.C. and Tip Top Sport made their debut in Division 1 winning convincingly against Batmen TTC and Valletta TTC respectively. The best match of the day was between Melita ‘A’ and Tutto Sport with all games being very closely contested. Melita won 7-2.

In Division 2 the experienced Fleur De Lys team won 8-1 against the young Aloysians ‘A’ team while in division 3, Allied Consultants started off well winning 8-1 against the Blade TTC Team.

The all under-15 side Melita ‘B’ Cadets also showed their talent beating San Gwann Flutisat by 7-2.
