Bank of Valletta is supporting the production of the opera Macbeth being held as part of the sixth edition of the Mediterranea Festival by La Stella Band Club. The opera, being staged at the Astra Theatre in Victoria on 25 and 27 October, will feature Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja as MacDuff.

The Bank's sponsorship was presented by Michael Galea, head at the CEO's Office at Bank of Valletta, to Joseph Grech, president of the club.

"Bank of Valletta is a strong supporter of artistic and cultural events organized in Gozo. We are delighted to be one of the main partners for this production of Macbeth that will be marking the 10th anniversary of when it was first produced at the Astra Theatre, as well as the début of Joseph Calleja," said Mr Galea.

"Gozo and the opera have a very strong association and the Mediterranea Festival has been attracting a very strong international following year after year," Dr Grech said.
