The Bishop of Gozo, Mgr Mario Grech will open the newly landscaped Gnien Dar il-Kaptan at Dar il-Kaptan, the respite home for persons with disability, at Mtarfa on Wednesday at 5pm. Ms Dolores Cristina, Minister for the Family and Social Solidarity, will be attending.

The landscaping of the garden has been primarily financed through a grant from l-Istrina, but substantial donations have also been made by HSBC Cares for Children Fund, Vodafone Malta Foundation, HSBC Bank Malta plc, Rotary Club La Valette and Rotary Club Malta, to enable the project to be completed.

Originally the terrain of the garden was on different levels and persons in wheelchairs or restricted mobility could not make use of the facilities. Apart from levelling the grounds and landscaping, the new facilities include a swimming pool, an enlarged barbecue
