A 19-year-old was yesterday cleared of attempting to steal various car parts form Mosta.

The youth was cleared of attempting to steal various parts form a Mark IV Ford Escort on 15 September 2005.

The court, presided over by Magistrate Miriam Hayman, noted that the alleged victim did not want the accused to get in trouble and informed the court that the car was scrapped and off the road at the time. The court therefore cleared the accused of all charges.

Police inspector Joe Mercieca prosecuted while Dr Anglu Farrugia appeared for the accused.
