Iklin Roads get tarmac surfacing

Malta Independent Saturday, 27 October 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Roads Minister Jesmond Mugliett was yesterday shown round Iklin roads which have been tarmacked, with the government having completed more than half the number of roads it had promised to rebuild by the end of next year.

These road works, in 47 localities, would cost Lm9 million, he said. The work at Iklin was done in coordination with the local council, which was allocated Lm75,000 by the government to build the roads that had been earmarked by the government.

The roads include Triq il-Luq, Triq l-Awrikarja, new street in Triq il-Harruba, parts of Triq il-Harruba and Triq in-Namur.

The whole programme included 453 residential roads originally, which was brought up to 468 after consultation with local councils.
