Lip-reading The PS

Malta Independent Sunday, 2 December 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Labour media made much of comments made by parliamentary secretary Tony Abela while watching One News journalist Charlon Gouder interviewing Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi during the Independence celebrations.

But now a clip put on YouTube regarding the same occasion has lip-readers in action.

For, at least by some lip-reading interpretations, it shows Dr Abela addressing a very Maltese scurrilous remark to Mr Gouder.

That is the interpretation given by most of those who wrote on the blog where the clip can be seen: http://sandrovella. org./2007/11/segretarju-devot- fit-tubu.html

“As one who wrote in said: Why do I, if I say anything like that, get kicked out of work/school, but not the parliamentary secretary?

“And, at the football ground, for saying a much less scurrilous word to the referee, the police set about you and order you never to go there again.”

Another Sandro Vella blog regards Minister George Pullicino (http://sandrovella. org/2007/11/l-impjegat-tagna-pullicino.html)

On 7 September, Mr Pullicino launched his blog claiming he was not going to talk politics. In fact, he speaks a lot about his travels: 19 September Porto, 24-26 September New York, 31 October Luxembourg.

He does write a lot about non-political matters, but he does so during office hours: Tuesday, 11 September 3.04pm; Thursday 13 September 2.59pm, Tuesday 13 October 1.52pm, Friday 19 October 2.32pm etc.
