Pawlu Aquilina, PN Local Councils Co-ordinator, excels in the reversal game of exchanging motes in neighbour’s eyes with the beams in one’s own.

Stating that Mosta local council is in a mess after seven months of Labour administration and conveniently forgetting the disaster left by the outgoing Nationalist administration is tantamount to blasphemy!

In the meantime, he performs a St Vitus dance, cavorting around Labour-led councils in a futile attempt to camouflage his original false slur that “Zejtun local council ignored an MLP directive”.

In his latest missive he continues charging down this deceitful path. He falsely states that “Luqa local council is collecting income from warden tickets issued at MIA when this money should have been collected by the Zejtun tribunal”. Apart from acting by proxy, Mr Aquilina is also contradicting the Director of Local Councils who in April 2003 confirmed that MIA falls squarely and neatly within the Luqa Council boundaries and not Gudja’s, which forms part of the Zejtun Tribunal.

Mr Aquilina is fully aware that there are PN led councils who just sideline or completely ignore the Labour minority within their fold. In contrast he concludes that the Zejtun local council is managing affairs “in the proper way”. When he succeeds in committing all PN led councils to adopt this style of management he will have the right to the high perch he subversively occupies and preach to one and all about the democratic virtues his party pays lip service to.
