A Bulgarian is in critical condition after he fell a height of between three to four storeys while working in Sliema.

The police said that the accident took place in a residence in Manwel Dimech Street. The man fell into a shaft while doing some work, the police said.

The man was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital where he was found to be in critical condition.

The police are investigating.
